Polypropylene (PP), also known as polypropene, is a thermoplastic polymer used in a wide variety of applications. It is produced via chain-growth polymerization from the monomer propylene.
Polypropylene belongs to the group of polyolefins and is partially crystalline and non-polar. Its properties are similar to polyethylene, but it is slightly harder and more heat resistant. It is a white, mechanically rugged material and has a high chemical resistance.
Polypropylene(PP) Fiber is a synthetic fiber formed from a polypropylene melt. Polypropylene fiber is generally superior to polyamide fibers in elasticity and resiliency. It displays good heat-insulating properties and is highly resistant to acids, alkalines, and organic solvents.
Applications:
- Projects like concrete road, bridge, airport road and factory floor which strictly require cracking resistance.
- The wall of tunnels, mines, roofs and reservoir projects with special construction.
- River courses and dams, etc.
- Military defense works, dock banks and piers, etc.
Key properties:
- Increase seepage resistance
- Increase cracking resistance in mortars and concrete
- Improve the binding strength for plaster
- Improve tensile, bending & folding strength
- Improve plastic deformity
- Strong acid & alkaline resistance and good endurance
